RESULTS BASED STRATEGIC PLANNING: CASCADING HIERARCHY OF OBJECTIVES.

Our strategic planning approach anchors on the discovery and entrenchment of core values that help to discern value-based visions that ultimately inform determination of long-term goals, medium-term program objectives and short-term project interventions. 

 

For greatest effect, we utilize participatory approaches involving key stakeholders, partners and organizational actors at different levels of operation. This leads to widely-owned results-based strategic plans, backed by comprehensive monitoring, evaluation and learning systems.

PROGRAMME PLANNING , MONITORING, EVALUATION, AND LEARNING.

Programme planning anchors on priority thematic areas necessary to deliver key objectives of the organizational strategic plans.   Each thematic area is developed with a well-defined objective that informs lower level areas of intervention. It is these intervention areas that subsequently inform identification of project ideas. In a cascading logic, each programme goal defines its contribution to the organizational purpose. On the other hand, programme purpose defines the sub-thematic areas that inform identification of lower level areas of intervention (projects).  At respective levels of operation, each objective is elaborated with indicators of success that lay the basis for monitoring, evaluation and learning.

To promote continuity and coherence, it's crucial to conceptualize each project in relation to previous and subsequent interventions in the same thematic areas. This approach lays the basis for cumulative effect of short-term project interventions in pursuit of medium-term outcomes and long-term impacts.
