Lesson Learning from Past CGIAR Organizational Reforms was undertaken by evaluating historical center-level consolidations and cross-center integration initiatives spanning from 1971 to 2025. Jointly with two other partners, CAPDEV CONSULTANTS LTD conducted the study by examining available literature and interviewing selected key informants among those actors who had been directly involved in the respective organizational mergers/integration and systemic reforms. The study examined prevailing contexts, intended objectives, processes, resulting outcomes; and generated lessons-learned and options for consideration in an impending CGIAR strategic planning for 2040.​
